ABOUT SIX SPOKE BREWING COMPANY
Founded in 2025 by long-time Detroiters the Mifsud family – patriarch and entrepreneur Joe Mifsud, his son Jordan, and daughter-in-law, Kelcie – Six Spoke Brewing Company is an original craft brewery re-invigorating Detroit’s booming and historic Corktown neighborhood one pint at a time. Named as a nod to Detroit’s six major roadways or “spokes” that meet in a wheel-like middle – a hub where all roads connect – Six Spoke aims to keep that communal, “hub” spirit alive, honoring the past and building for the future. Just blocks away from landmarks like the recently revitalized Michigan Central Train Station and Roosevelt Park and located on the same plot as lauded sister venture Cork & Gabel, the Mifsuds conceptualized Six Spoke as a labor of love with a people-first mindset, delicious brews, and family-like hospitality that patrons can feel. Ensuring only the best for Detroit’s oldest neighborhood, Six Spoke is proudly partnering with head brewer Richard Chesstnutt, a bronze medal-winner at the 2016 Great American Beer Festival with over 10 years of brewing experience. Formulated and crafted on-site on the 2400 block of Michigan Ave, Six Spoke’s menu of beers is as unique and inviting as its vibrant, celebrated neighborhood. “Corktown sits at the heart of Detroit both culturally and historically,” the Mifsuds share. “We hope as our family continues to build our business that Six Spoke will live there, too.”
